Important Notes:

  • Sign in with Apple allows you to create or access a Surfline account using your Apple Account.
  • When using Sign in with Apple, Apple gives you the option to Share My Email or Hide My Email.
  • If you choose Hide My Email, Apple creates a unique private relay email address for your Surfline account instead of sharing your personal email address.
  • If you already have a Surfline account under another email address, using Sign in with Apple may result in a separate Surfline account.
  • Before purchasing a Surfline membership, make sure you are signed into the Surfline account you intend to use.

What is Sign in with Apple?

Sign in with Apple is another way to create or sign into your Surfline account using your Apple Account.

To access a Surfline account created with Apple, select Continue with Apple from the Surfline sign-in screen and continue with the same Apple Account you originally used.

If your Surfline account was originally created using an email address and password, select Continue with email and sign in using that email address.

Depending on the platform you’re using, you may also see another sign-in option to Continue with Facebook.

To access your existing Surfline account, use the same sign-in method you originally used when creating the account.

What is Hide My Email

When creating an account with Sign in with Apple, Apple gives you the option to Share My Email or Hide My Email.

If you select Hide My Email, Apple creates a unique email address that may look similar to:

example@privaterelay.appleid.com

This private relay email address is used on your Surfline account instead of your personal email address. Messages sent to the private relay address are forwarded by Apple to the email address associated with your Apple Account.

If the email address on your Surfline account ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com, you selected Hide My Email when using Sign in with Apple.

Why do I have a different Surfline account after using Sign in with Apple?

If you already had a Surfline account associated with your personal email address and then use Continue with Apple, you may be signed into a separate account.

This is especially important when Hide My Email is selected. Apple provides Surfline with a unique private relay email address rather than your personal email address, so the account may be separate from the Surfline account you previously used.

As a result, you may notice that your:

  • Favorites are different or missing
  • Sessions or other account information are missing
  • Premium membership does not appear
  • Account email ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com

If this happens, sign out of Surfline and sign back in using the same login method and email address you originally used for your existing account.

How do I sign back into a Surfline account created with Apple?

  1. Sign out of Surfline.
  2. Return to the Surfline sign-in screen.
  3. Select Continue with Apple.
  4. Continue using the same Apple Account you originally used to create the Surfline account.

If you selected Hide My Email when the account was created, you do not need to enter the private relay email address manually when using Continue with Apple.

How can I find the private relay email address Apple created for Surfline?

On an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap your name at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Sign in with Apple.
  4. Select Surfline.

If you used Hide My Email, you should see the private relay email address associated with Surfline.

On a Mac:

  1. Open System Settings.
  2. Select your name.
  3. Select Sign in with Apple.
  4. Select Surfline.

On Windows or another device with a web browser:

  1. Go to account.apple.com and sign in to your Apple Account.
  2. Open Sign-In & Security.
  3. Select Sign in with Apple.
  4. Select Surfline from the list of apps and websites.
  5. If you used Hide My Email, you should see the private relay email address associated with your Surfline account.

I already have a Surfline account. Should I use Continue with Apple?

If you already have a Surfline account, use the same sign-in method you previously used to access that account.

For example, if your existing Surfline account was created using your personal email address and password, select Continue with email and sign in with that email address rather than creating another account through Continue with Apple.

If you are unsure which account contains your membership or other account information, check the email address shown in your Surfline account settings. For instructions on accessing your account details, see How do I access my account and membership information? You can also contact support@surfline.com so our Support team can help locate your existing account.

What if I purchased a membership while signed into a different Surfline account?

If you discover that you have more than one Surfline account, do not purchase another membership to try to restore access.

First, check the email address shown in the Surfline account you are currently signed into. If one of your accounts uses a private relay email address, you can find that address through your Apple settings using the instructions above.

If you still cannot locate the account containing your membership, contact support@surfline.com. Include any email addresses that may be associated with your Surfline accounts, including your Apple private relay email address if available, so we can help identify the correct account and next steps.

Will Surfline emails sent to my private relay address reach me?

Yes. As long as email forwarding remains enabled through Apple, messages Surfline sends to your private relay email address will be forwarded to the email address associated with your Apple Account.
