Starting September 29, 2026, watching Surfline live cams requires a Surfline Premium membership.
Free users can still access many of Surfline's core features, including:
- Surf forecasts
- Surf reports
- Buoy data
- Tide information
- Sessions logging
- Personal surf journal and stats
- Favourite spots and alerts
Live camera access is now included exclusively with Surfline Premium plans.
Why are cams now a Premium feature?
Surfline operates the world's largest surf camera network, with more than 1,300 live cams across the globe and new locations added every year.
Keeping that network running takes a significant amount of work behind the scenes. When a camera is damaged by storms, loses power, experiences connectivity issues, or hardware fails, our team is out there maintaining, repairing, cleaning, and troubleshooting to get it back online.
Premium memberships help fund the operation, maintenance, and expansion of the Surfline Camera Network so we can continue delivering reliable, high-quality live surf conditions from around the world.
I'm already a Premium member. Does anything change for me?
No.
If you're already a Surfline Premium member, your cam access and Premium features remain unchanged. You'll continue to enjoy the same access you have today, including live cams, forecasts, sessions, and all other Premium benefits.
What's the most affordable way to keep watching cams?
Surfline Premium with Ads is our most affordable paid plan and includes unlimited access to Surfline's live camera network, along with all the features that help you score better waves.
New eligible users may also qualify for a free Premium trial, giving you the chance to experience full Premium access before choosing a plan.

How do I change or cancel my plan?
You can manage your Surfline subscription at any time through the platform where you purchased it.
If you subscribed through Surfline.com
- Sign in to your Surfline account.
- Go to Account Settings.
- Select Subscription.
- Choose Manage Subscription.
If you subscribed through Apple
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name.
- Select Subscriptions.
- Choose Surfline and make any desired changes.
If you subscribed through Google Play
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Tap your profile icon.
- Select Payments & Subscriptions.
- Choose Subscriptions.
- Select Surfline and manage your plan.
