What is the Surfline Tide Widget?
The Surfline Tide Widget allows you to quickly check a tide graph with high and low tide heights and times on the homepage of your iOS device.
You can quickly access the spot page that the widget is showing the tide data for in the Surfline app by clicking on the widget from your home page.
How do I add the tide widget to my home screen?
To add a widget to your device, unlock your phone and head to the home screen. Touch and hold the page until the background begins to shake. Tap the Edit button in the top left corner of your screen, then tap Add Widget.
You can use the search bar at the top of the widgets page to search for Surfline, or scroll down the page and select Surfline from the list of apps. Move the widget to the desired location on your home screen while the apps are still shaking then tap Done in the top right corner of your screen.
The tide widget will show you the tide information for your top favorite spot. Take a look here for information on how to organize your favorites.
You can also change the spot that the widget is showing the tide data for by clicking and holding the widget, select Edit Widget, and choose another favorite spot.
How do I add the lock screen tide widget?
We've introduced a lock screen tide widget so you can quickly check the high and low tide times throughout the day for the spot you've selected on your home screen widget.
To add the lock screen tide widget, touch and hold the lock screen until the Customize button appears. Scroll right or left to select the screen you'd like to add the widget to, and then tap Customize at the bottom of the page. Tap Add Widgets, then scroll down and select Surfline. Tap or drag the Surfline widget, and select done or add at the top of the page.
You can quickly access the spot page in the Surfline app by tapping the widget from your lock screen.
